Made in India by Loofah Art. Loofah Art products are completely eco friendly, 100% bio-degradable and fabricated from a sustainable agriculture crop. When loofah biodegrades into the soil it helps replenish the soil with nitrogen as well as helping to retard erosion. By providing farmers in under-developed cultures with an alternative to grow and harvest Loofah Art it is providing them with the means by which to help support and feed their families. In the early stages of growth loofah is an edible vegetable and enjoyed by the people of these cultures. Consequently these farmers are planting, growing, and cultivating more loofah in order to accommodate the needs of Loofah Art which in turn provides more food for them to consume and sell at market. This is possible because when a loofah vegetable is plucked from the vine another grows in it's place. This can happen a few times in a growing season. When the last of the loofahs are left on the vine to dry into gourds, we buy them for fabrication of loofah art scrubbers. Helping our workers with educational support for their children is another key initiative of Loofah Art. Programs have been developed and are in practice that keeps the children in school and out of the fields. One of their principle objectives for educational support is to provide the opportunity for the coming generations to succeed.
